What is Shop Talk?
Shop Talk is a pre-scheduled activity for your group. Each talk gives a 30-minute orientation on duty-free shopping on St. Thomas & St. John and is the perfect prelude to a tour that includes shopping and/or a group breakfast or lunch.
As part of the Shop Talk, we review customs regulations, duty-free limits, exempt items and liquor quotas and outline those items on which they will save the most buying locally. Each attending guest will receive a detailed shopping map of
Charlotte Amalie, money saving coupons, special gifts and promotions. The map directs shoppers where to find the best buys on jewelry, linens, watches, china, cameras, designer clothing, T-shirts, liquor, tobacco, perfumes & local crafts.
The Shop Talk is concluded with a Q & A session.
To give your group the feeling that guests have the key to the city, we can
personalize their shopping experience by having stores put welcome signs
on all of their doors.
Every store represented by Shop Talk is under contractual obligation to extend a 30-day guarantee on any merchandise purchased by your guests. This guarantee will be particularly helpful in relieving shopper’s purchasing anxieties and add to their overall shopping experience (With over 300 jewelry stores in Charlotte Amalie, a shopping excursion can be overwhelming for the unprepared).
